I don't know about the weather but traveling with airlines you should look to travel on Tuesday or Wednesday....I worked for an airline and those are the least busiest days to travel...Monday's and Friday's are the busiest. I know that October through February are usually pretty reasonably priced for travel to Hawaii as well. I wouldn't suggest traveling the week before or the week after a holiday either. We moved to Hawaii in August, and if i recall correctly, the down season is late September through Jan as was stated above. Not only should flights be less expensive but so should hotel rates. Once you get there, or even before you have to pick up the "Revealed Series Travel Books": Maui Revealed, Hawaii Revealed. When we were there in 2006 these were the most accurate books, and they are always being updated.
